a deal but they didn't sound optimistic about it. paul ryan and patty murray gave themselves until friday 13th to draft a limit on the spending cap under what is called the sequesteral law. they want to spend more than was planned and avoid mandatory crass the board cuts. and we are looking at another government shutdown. and the only other option is to stay in the spending cap. but that has 107 billion neither party really wants and that's the sequester part of all of. this they want to shrink the military cuts and democrats want to restore educational money and medical sesearch. how they would pay for it. and the republicans are not happy about the spending and bill written behind closed doors. >> paul ryan came in and gave us an update and i hope they work it out. there is cleel no agreement. >> no agreement and the senate is still out on the thanks giving recess and will not be back until next week. and then the house goes on vacation for the week. it leaves only five work days in which the house and senate will be in the capitol building together. and the budget is not only th

in tallahassee. >> we'll know sooner rather than later. no need to speculate about that. but, paul, give us your assessment right now, based on what you know as far as this case is concerned, when prosecutors have to go through the evidence, they've got to come up with strong evidence to make these formal charges, right? >> well they do, wolf. what surprises me about this is, well, of course, the rape allegedly happened back in december of 2012. so an enormous amount of time has gone by. but prosecutors, when they're announcing an indictment or criminal charges, they don't usually do it in advance of the surrender of the potential defendant. and for a very simple reason, he might get on a plane and flee if he knows he's going to be indicted. you can say, this is a famous football player, where would he go? normally, a prosecutor only has a press conference after an indictment has been handed down, after an arrest has been made, to outline what's going to happen next. you rarely have a case where in advance you trigger and signal the arrest of somebody. so i'll be surprised if they announce that

of congress, paul ryan -- the house committee budget chairman, republican -- and patty murray, the democratic senate committee person. and they've got a very, very busy calendar and an awful lot to do and not a lot of time. ryan and murray have until next friday the 13th, yes, you heard right, they're several imposed deadline, to come up with a one-year spending agreement to raids the spending cap under the so-called sequester law to a trillion bucks. if they don't have a deal in five weeks by jab 15th -- january 15th, the government will shut down again. the only other option is to continue. let's take a look at the graphic here. the only option they would have is to continue with do $967 billion that is in place right now for next year. the problem with that is it calls for $107 billion in mandatory across the board spending cuts that both parties want to avoid if they can. to reduce it, republicans want to cut the defense cuts from $17 billion in the plan down to just $3 billion next year while democrats want to restore some medical research money and some money for about $38 billion in ad
